About the Professional Firefighters of Wolfeboro: Local 3708
The Professional Firefighters of Wolfeboro was founded in June 1996. We are a collective bargaining unit representing 9 personnel consisting of 3 Lieutenants and 6 firefighters, employed by the town of Wolfeboro, NH. Local 3708 are proactive members of the Proffesional Firefighters of New Hampshire(PFFNH) and the International Association of Firefighters(IAFF).
The town of Wolfeboro has a year round population of approximately 7,000 residents and a summer time population of approximately 25,000 residents and visitors. Wolfeboro is 48.3 sq miles of land and 10.1 sq miles of water. Wolfeboro is known as the "Oldest Summer Resort in America".
Wolfeboro Fire-Rescue Department is a combination department consisting of a Full-time Chief, a Full-time Deputy Chief, 3 Full-time Lieutenants, 6 Full-time Firefighters, 1 Call Lieutenant, 8 Call Firefighters, and a Part-time Securtary. One Lieutenant and two Firefighters make up a Group. We work two 24 hour shifts a week for a total of 48 hours a week. Maximum coverage shifts are 5 personnel on duty, including the chief's; other days may only have 2 personnel on duty. The Central station is the only maned station.
